Qualification/Profession:

Dr.N.Kapilan is working in Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology as Professor and Head of Mechanical Engineering Department since 2002. He did his M.Tech and Ph.D. from NITK, Surathkal. He has 22 years of teaching, research, and industrial experience. He has published more than 72 papers in journals and authored one textbook and five book chapters.

He is a member of ISHRAE since 2006 and is the CWC member of ISHRAE Bangalore chapter from 2009. He was actively involved in the students’ activities and presently K12 activities of the ISHRAE Bangalore Chapter. He was the National Chair – Students activities, of the ISHRAE during 2014-16 and initiated a number of activities such as Job Junction, student project grant, etc. He received the Best Student Activities Chair Award from ISHRAE during 2017. He was the Chairman of aQuest 2017. He coordinated and organized a Faculty Development Programme of ISHRAE Bangalore Chapter with Vision Group on Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka. He played a key role in starting more number of student chapters in ISHRAE Bangalore Chapter. Presently he is the K12 Activities Chair of ISHRAE Bangalore Chapter.

He is a member of ASHRAE since 2014 and is coordinating the students’ activities of the ASHRAE Bangalore Chapter. He has received the best student activities chair award from RAL in the year 2017 and Best Student Activities Chair Award from ASHRAE during 2020. The chapter has received grants from ASHRAE during his tenure. He organized a joint International Conference between ASHRAE Bangalore Chapter and Turkey Chapter. He organized several workshops / seminars / STTP between student chapters of ISHRAE and ASHRAE Bangalore Chapters. He taken-up several initiatives to open more number of student branches in ASHRAE Bangalore Chapter.
